NOTICE OF PROBATION (By Consent)
Case Nos. 91-139-GA; 91-163-FA Wanda P. Taylor, P38662, Detroit, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #4.
1) Probation - two years; 2) Effective April 3, 1992. The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for consent order of discipline pursuant to MCR 9.115 (F)(5) which was approved by the hearing panel and the Attorney Grievance Commission. Respondent offered her plea of nolo contendere to the allegations contained in Formal Complaint 91-139-GA. Formal Complaint 91-163-FA was dismissed by stipulation.
Respondent was retained by five separate clients in connection with two bankruptcy matters, a land contract foreclosure, a divorce action, and a combination divorce action and juvenile court hearing. She pled nolo contendere to the allegations that she failed to perform any services on behalf of her clients; failed to respond to her clients inquiries; and failed to promptly refund costs advanced and/or retainers paid by her clients despite the clients requests that she do so.
Respondent's conduct was alleged to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1-4) and the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct, 1.1(c); 1.3; 1.4(a); 8.4(a,c). Costs were assessed in the amount of $86.23.
