NOTICE OF REPRIMAND Case No. 91-27-GA Bruce J. Thorburn, P28912, Pontiac, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board vacating a hearing panel order of dismissal.
1) Reprimand; 2) Effective February 29, 1992. Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #69 found that respondent's failure to answer a request for investigation did not constitute professional misconduct, and dismissed the formal complaint.
The Grievance Administrator filed a petition for review seeking reversal of the hearing panel order of dismissal. In an order and opinion dated February 7, 1992, the Attorney Discipline Board found that respondent's failure to file an answer to the request for investigation constituted professional misconduct warranting discipline, and imposed a reprimand.
Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104 (1-4, 7); MCR 9.113(A); MCR 9.113(B)(2); and the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct, 8.1 and 8.4(a,c). Costs were assessed in the amount of $218.16.
