NOTICE OF REVOCATION Case Nos. 91-238-GA; 91-275-FA Jeffrey T. Ross, P32289, Lake Leelanau, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Cheboygan County Hearing Panel #I.

1) Revocation; 2) Effective March 11, 1992. Respondent failed to answer the formal complaints and failed to appear at the bearing held in Boyne City on Monday, January 20, 1992. Respondent's default was entered and the panel determined that the default established the allegations of the formal complaint.

Respondent was retained to prosecute a wrongful discharge and civil rights action, but failed to take any action on his client's behalf within the statute of limitations; falsely represented to his client that he had filed a complaint on her behalf; falsely represented to his client that trial dates were set in her case; falsely represented to his client that the trial dates had been adjourned; falsely represented to his client that her case was pending; falsely represented to his client that she was to receive a $50,000 settlement; prepared false documents in support of his representation that there was a $50,000 settlement offer; held himself out as an attorney to his client while suspended; rendered legal advice to his client while suspended; failed to notify his client of his suspension; failed to file proof that he had notified his client of his suspension; and failed to answer the request for investigation.

Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104 (1-4,7,8); MCR 9.113(A); MCR 9.113(B)(2); the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct, 1.1(c); 1.2(a); 1.3; 1.4(a); 3.2; 5.5(a); 8.1(b); 8.4(a-c); and Canons 1, 6 and 7 of the then-applicable Code of Professional Responsibility, DR 1-102(A)(1,5,6); DR 6-101(A)(3); DR 7-101(A)(1-3). Costs were assessed in the amount of $364.75.
