1) Reprimand; 2) Effective January 4, 1992. The hearing panel found that misconduct was established by a preponderance of the evidence. Respondent was retained to act as defense counsel in a paternity action, but failed to file a witness list; failed to engage in discovery; and requested that his client have his witnesses present at court despite not having filed a witness list.
Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104 (1-4) and the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct, 1.1(a-c); 1.2(a); 1.3; 8.4(a,c). Costs were assessed in the amount of $1168.70.
