NOTICE OF REPRIMAND Case No. 91-147-GA Brent S. Hunt, P30711, Wyandotte, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #26.

1) Reprimand; 2) Effective December 7, 1991. The hearing panel found that misconduct as to count one of the formal complaint was established by a preponderance of the evidence. Count two was dismissed. Respondent was retained concerning the sale of a business; a purchase agreement was entered into and the sum of $1000.00 was deposited with respondent as a down payment. After the closing, the sum of $150.00 was escrowed for an outstanding water bill and respondent was required to act as escrow agent. Respondent deposited the sum of $150.00 Into his client trust account, but failed to pay the water bill or to return the money to his clients upon demand and failed to maintain an adequate balance in his client trust account. Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1-4) and the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct, 1.15(a-c); 8.4(a-c). In its report, the panel noted the respondent's prior unblemished record and the negligent, rather than wilful, mishandling of client funds. Costs were assessed in the amount of $262.54.
