1) Suspension - three (3) years; 2) Effective November 9, 1991. The respondent failed to answer formal complaint 91-136-GA and failed to appear at the hearing held in Detroit on September 13, 1991. Respondent's default was entered and the panel determined that the default established the allegations of formal complaint 91-136-GA. Formal complaint 91-160-FA was dismissed without prejudice. Respondent was retained to represent a client in a civil action, but failed to complete the matter for which he was retained; failed to answer the legitimate inquiries of his client; failed to return the client's papers and property; and failed to answer the request for investigation. Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1-4,7); MCR 9.103(C); MCR 9.113(B)(2); and the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct, 1.1(c); 1.2(a); 1.3; 1.16(d); 3.2; 8.1(b); 8.4(a-c). Costs were assessed in the amount of $107.41.
