NOTICE OF REPRIMAND (By Consent)

Case No. 18-93-GA

Notice Issued: November 29, 2018

Johnny L. Hawkins, P 48157, Southfield, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board TriĀ County Hearing Panel #74.

Reprimand, Effective November 24, 2018

Respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a Stipulation for Consent Order of Discipline, in accordance with MCR 9.115(F)(5), which was approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and accepted by the hearing panel. The stipulation contained respondent's admissions to the allegations contained in the formal complaint that he committed professional misconduct during his representation of a client in a matter titled Tony Dewayne Beard, Jr., a legally incapacitated person, by and through Johnette Ford, his legal guardian v Eric Hawkins, US. District Court, E.D. Mich, Case No. 14-13465.

Based upon respondent's plea and the stipulation of the parties, the panel found that respondent failed to make reasonably diligent efforts to comply with a legally proper discovery request by an opposing party, in violation of MRPC 3.4(d). Respondent was also found to have violated MRPC 8.4(a), and MCR 9.104(2) and (4).

In accordance with the stipulation of the parties, the panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded. Costs were assessed in the amount of $757.83.
