NOTICE OF SUSPENSIONS AND PROBATION (By Consent)
Case Nos. ADB 168-89; 182-89; 90-58-GA; 90-80-FA; 90-167-MZ Leodis Elliott, P31365, Detroit, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board approving a stipulation for consent order of discipline.
1) Suspension - 30 days; 2) Suspension - 45 days; Effective April 9, 1991. Effective April 9, 1991.
3) Suspension - 119 days; 4) Probation - two years; Effective April 9, 1991. Effective August 7, 1991.
The respondent and the grievance administrator filed a stipulation for consent order of discipline pursuant to MCR 9.115 (F)(5) which was approved by the Attorney Discipline Board and the Attorney Grievance Commission. Respondent offered his plea of nolo contendere to the charges contained in the petition for order to show cause, case no. 90-167-MZ, which alleged that respondent violated the terms of his previous two-year probation (effective March 1, 1988--see notice dated May 12, 1988). For the misconduct alleged in case no. 90-167-MZ, respondent was suspended from the practice of law in Michigan for a period of 119 days effective April 9, 1991. The suspension will be followed by a two-year period of probation subject to certain conditions, commencing upon respondent's automatic reinstatement to the practice of law in accordance with MCR 9.123(A).
The stipulation for consent order of discipline also contained an agreement to amend the effective dates of the thirty-day suspension (ADB 168-89; 182-89--see notice dated September 7, 1990) and the forty-five day suspension (case nos. 90-58-GA; 90-80-FA --see notice dated April 3, 1991) to run concurrently to the 119-day suspension in case no. 90-167-MZ. Costs assessed in all files were in the total amount of $1010.84.
