1) Reprimand; 2) Effective December 27, 1990. The respondent was retained to represent the defendant in a pending criminal matter. The hearing panel found, by a preponderance of the evidence, that the respondent violated his duties and responsibilities as follows: Respondent sent two letters to the mother of the victim in the pending criminal proceeding, who was also a potential witness, for the purpose of influencing the testimony of the mother and her son.
Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct, 8.4(c). Costs were assessed in the amount of $774.03.
