1) Revocation; 2) Effective December 22, 1990. The respondent failed to answer the formal complaints and failed to appear at the hearing held in Southfield on October 30, 1990. Respondent's defaults were entered and the hearing panel determined that the defaults established the allegations of the formal complaints. Respondent - was
retained in connection with a claim against an insurance company, but failed to prosecute the claim on his client's behalf, failed to respond to his clients inquiries, falsely advised his client that a complaint had been filed on her behalf and was pending in court, failed to notify his client of a previous suspension, made a false statement in his affidavit of
compliance regarding the previous suspension, and failed to answer the request for investigation. Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1-4,7); MCR 9.119(A)(B); MCR 9.113(A); MCR 9.113(B)(2); Canons 1, 6 and 7 of the Code of Professional Responsibility, DR 1-102(A)(1,4-6); DR 6-10l(A)(3); DR 7-lOl(A)(l-3); and the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct, ( c ) ; 1.3; 1.4; 8.4(a-c). Costs were
assessed in,the amount of $143.34.
