NOTICE OF SUSPENSION (By Consent)
ADB 169-89 Gerald R. Goulet, P-14234, Detroit, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Wayne County Hearing Panel #4.
1) Suspension - sixty days; 2) Effective September 15, 1990. The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for consent order of discipline pursuant to MCR 9.115(F)(5) which was approved by the hearing panel and the Attorney Grievance Commission. The respondent admitted the allegations contained in paragraph H(i) of Count I of the formal complaint.
Respondent was retained to represent a client in a pending personal injury case, but deposited the settlement draft into his office business account, commingling the funds with his own.
Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1-4) and Canons 1 and 9 of the Code of Professional Responsibility, DR 1-102(A)(1,5,6) and DR 9.102(A). Costs were assessed in the amount of $186.20.
