1) Suspension - one year; 2) Effective November 30, 1990. Respondent failed to answer the formal complaints, but appeared at the hearing held in Bloomfield Hills on October 2, 1990. Respondent's defaults were entered and the hearing panel determined that the defaults established the allegations of the formal complaints.

The fifteen count formal complaint contained six counts of neglect, two counts of misrepresentation to a court, two counts of making a false statement in an answer to a request for investigation, one count of misrepresentation to a client, one count of failure to timely release a client's file, one count of improper withdrawal from employment, and two counts of failure to answer a request for investigation. Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1-4,6,7); MCR 9.113(A); MCR 9.113 (B)(2); Canons 1, 2, 6, 7 and 9 of the Code of Professional Responsibility, DR 1-102(A)(1,4-6); DR 2-110(B)(4); DR 6-101(A)(3); DR 7-101(A)(1-3); DR 7-102(A)(2); DR 9-102(B)(4); and the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct, 1.1(c); 1.3; 1.4(a,b); 8.4(a-c). Costs were assessed in the amount of $296.74.

The grievance administrator and one of the complainants filed petitions for review seeking an increase in discipline. No petition for review or request for stay of discipline was filed by the respondent, and the suspension became effective November 30, 1990. The pending petitions for review were dismissed upon the filing of the order of revocation in case nos. 91-25-GA; 91-42-FA.
