NOTICE OF REPRIMAND (By Consent)
Case No. 90-69-GA William Hatley, P-38780, Lincoln Park, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board affirming a hearing panel order of reprimand (by consent).
1) Reprimand; 2) Effective October 2, 1990. The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for consent order of discipline pursuant to MCR 9.115(F)(5) which was approved by the hearing panel and the Attorney Grievance Commission. The respondent offered his plea of nolo contendere to Count I of the Formal Complaint. Count II was dismissed.
Respondent was retained in connection with a civil matter in the 26th District Court, but failed to file the trial brief that the court required to be filed in the matter following trial.
Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1-4); Rule 1.1(c), 1.2(a), 1.3, and 8.4(a,c) of the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct. Costs were assessed in the amount of $60.90.
The complainant filed a petition for review asking for an increase in the discipline imposed. In an order dated November 16, 1990, the Attorney Discipline Board affirmed the hearing panel order of reprimand (by consent).
