NOTICE OF REPRIMAND ADB 95-89 Russell G. Slade, P-24726, Ironwood, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board reducing a hearing panel order of suspension of thirty days.

1) Reprimand; 2) Effective May 30, 1990. The Gogebic County Hearing Panel issued an order suspending the respondent's license to practice law for thirty days based upon its conclusion that the respondent's admitted failure to file timely answers to three requests for investigation constituted professional misconduct.

The Attorney Discipline Board considered the petition for review filed by the respondent who argued that the level of discipline and the costs assessed were both excessive. The Board was unable to conclude that the respondent was prejudiced by the procedures followed by the panel. Upon review of the record, however, the Board was persuaded that the mitigating circumstances presented in this case warrants reduction of the discipline to a reprimand.

Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(7); MCR 9.103(C); and MCR 9.113(B)(2). Costs were assessed in the amount of $2041.31.
