NOTICE OF REPRIMAND Case Nos. 90-26-GA; 90-45-FA Lester J. Drake, P-12940, Ann Arbor, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Washtenaw County Hearing Panel #4.
1) Reprimand; 2) Effective June 13, 1990. The respondent failed to answer the formal complaint and failed to appear at the hearing held in Dexter, Michigan on March 29, 1990. Respondent's default was entered and the hearing panel determined that the default established the allegations of formal complaint 90-26-GA. Formal complaint 90-45-FA was dismissed without prejudice.
Respondent's license to practice law was suspended for nonpayment of dues on or about January 16, 1986, but continued to use stationery and envelopes with the caption "attorney at law," in effect holding himself out as an attorney authorized to practice law in the State of Michigan. Respondent also failed to answer the request for investigation.
Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1-5); the Revised Judicature Act, Section 600.916 and the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 8.4(a-d).
Costs were assessed in the amount of $219.53.
