NOTICE OF SUSPENSION (By Consent)

Case No. 90-52-JC Lewis D. Drain, P-12938, San Diego, California, (formerly of Grand Rapids, Michigan), by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #19.

1) Suspension - one year; 2) Effective December 4, 1989. Respondent entered a plea of guilty in the Kent County Circuit Court to the charge of involuntary manslaughter in violation of MCL 750.321-C. In accordance with MCR 9.120(A), the respondent's license to practice law was automatically suspended on December 4, 1989, the date of conviction.

Upon the filing of the judgment of conviction, the Attorney Discipline Board entered an order directing the respondent to show cause why a final order of discipline should not be entered.

The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for consent order of discipline pursuant to MCR 9.115(F)(5) which was approved by the hearing panel and the Attorney Grievance Commission. In an order dated October 29, 1990, Tri-County Hearing Panel #19 ordered that the respondent's license to practice law in Michigan be suspended for a period of one year effective December 4, 1989, the date of conviction.

Costs were assessed in the amount of $56.20.
