1) Suspension - 19 months;
2) Effective June 19, 1989. The hearing panel unanimously concluded that miscmduct was established as to Counts I, 11 and VII of the Formal Complaint. Respondent was retained to institute a personal injury lawsuit, but failed to perfect service of process, failed to take action to have the order of dismissal set aside or reinstate the matter, failed to keep in communication with his
client, failed to inform his client of the dismissal of the litigation within a reasonable time, made false statements to his client, and made false statements in his answer to the Request for Investigation. Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1-4,6); MCR 9.113(A); and Canons 1, 6, and 7 of the Code of Professional Responsibility, DR 1-102(A)(1,4-6); DR 6-101(A)(3); and DR 7-101(A)(1-3).
