1) Reprimand; 2) Effective May 20, 1989. The respondent was retained to represent a client in both a pending divorce action and a worker's disability claim. The hearing panel found that Respondent attempted to collect an excessive fee and that either the fee charged for the worker's compensation representation was illegal or the fee charged for the divorce case was excessive. Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1-4) and Canons 1 and 2 of the Code of Professional Responsibility, DR 1-102(A)(1) and DR 2-106(A). Costs were assessed in the amount of $753.96.
