NOTICE OF SUSPENSION ADB 187-87 Gerald K. Evelyn, P-29182, Detroit, Michigan, by the Michigan Supreme Court denying Respondent's application for leave to appeal the decision of the Attorney Discipline Board.
1) Suspension - thirty (30) days; 2) Effective April 5, 1989. The respondent failed to answer a Request for Investigation Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.113(A). Taking into consideration Respondent's prior disciplinary record for similar misconduct, the hearing panel imposed a suspension of thirty (30) days in an order dated March 21, 1988.
Respondent filed a Petition for Review with the Attorney Discipline Board. The discipline imposed by the panel was affirmed by the Board in a majority opinion and order dated September 1988. Two dissenting members of the Board would have decreased the discipline to a reprimand. Respondent's application for leave to appeal to the Michigan Supreme Court was denied in an order dated April 5, 1989, and the suspension became effective on that date.
