NOTICE OF REVOCATION ADB 72-89 Evelyn K. Cooper, P-24294, Detroit, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Wayne County Hearing Panel #25.

1) Revocation; 2) Effective March 7, 1989. Respondent was convicted in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan of extortion and attempted extortion affecting commerce in violation of 18 USC 1951 and subscribing a false tax return in violation of 26 USC 7206(1). In accordance with MCR 9.120(A), Respondent's license to practice law was automatically suspended on March 7, 1989, the date of the entry of guilty pleas by the respondent.

Upon the filing of the Judgment of Conviction, the Attorney Discipline Board entered an order directing the respondent to show cause why a final order of discipline should not be entered. In an order dated April 20, 1990, Wayne County Hearing Panel #25 order that the respondent's license to practice law be revoked effective March 7, 1989. Costs were assessed in the amount of $281.50.

NOTE: The Notice of Automatic Interim Suspension dated May 25, 1989 incorrectly cites the effective date of discipline as May 15, 1989. May 15, 1989 was the date of sentencing, not the date of conviction.
