1) Suspension - 275 days; 2) Effective March 10, 1989. The respondent was placed on probation for a period of two years, effective June 23, 1988, by a consent order approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and a hearing panel. (See Notice of Probation dated September 9, 1988.)
Following the filing of a petition by the Attorney Grievance Commission, the respondent was ordered to show cause on June 5, 1989 why the Order of Probation should not be vacated and a further order of discipline entered upon proof that he had violated the terms of his probation order. At that hearing, it was established that the respondent had failed to submit written reports as required to the Grievance Administrator, that his probation order in the 72nd District Court had been revoked and that on March 10, 1989 he had been sentenced to one year in jail. The panel concluded that further discipline should be imposed in the form of a 275-day suspension, retroactive to the date of his incarceration, March 10, 1989. Costs were assessed in the amount of $162.25.
