1) Suspension - six months; 2) Effective December 13, 1988. The Respondent failed to answer the Formal Complaints and failed to appear at the hearing in Flint on October 12, 1988. Respondent's defaults were entered and the hearing panel determined that the defaults established the allegations of the Formal Complaints. Respondent was retained to prosecute a civil matter, but failed to execute the settlement documents or respond to the inquiries of his clients and opposing counsel and failed to respond to the Motion to Compel Production of Settlement Documents or appear for the hearing. In a separate matter, Respondent failed to comply with the provisions of the Order of Reprimand in ADB 112-87. Respondent failed to answer two Requests for Investigation. Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1-4, 7-9); MCR 9.103(C); MCR 9.113(B)(2); and Canons 1, 6 and 7 of the Code of Professional Responsibility, DR 1-102(A)(1, 4-6); DR 6-101(A)(3); and DR 7-101(A)(1-3). Costs were assessed in the amount of $196.64.
