1) Suspension - two years; 2) Effective November 23, 1988. The Respondent failed to answer the Formal Complaints, but appeared at the hearing held in Detroit on September 20, 1988. Respondent's defaults were entered and the hearing panel determined that the defaults, as well as the Respondent's admissions, established the allegations of Formal Complaints 182-88 and 202-88. Formal Complaint 206-88 was withdrawn by the Grievance Administrator and dismissed by the hearing panel. In April 1985 Respondent was retained to prosecute an automobile contract revision lawsuit under the "lemon law" statute but failed to institute litigation before the running of the statute of limitations. In a separate matter, Respondent was retained in August 1985 to institute probate proceedings, but failed to institute proceedings and failed to keep in communication with his client. Respondent also failed to answer both Requests for Investigation. Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1-4, 7); MCR 9.103(C); MCR 9.113(B)(2); and Canons 1, 6 and 7 of the Code of Professional Responsibility, DR 1-102(A)(1, 5, 6); DR 6-101(A)(3); and DR 7-101(A)(1-3). Costs were assessed in the amount of $111.25.
