NOTICE OF REDUCED DISCIPLINE REPRIMAND AND RESTITUTION

Case No. DP 134/86; DP 174/86; DP 214/86 Dennis H. Snyder, P-29791, Grand Blanc, MI by the Attorney Discipline Board reducing a hearing panel order of suspension of thirty days to a reprimand and ordering restitution.

1) Reprimand; 2) October 27, 1988. Following its consideration of separate petitions for review filed by the Grievance Administrator, the respondent and the complainants, the Attorney Discipline Board affirmed the hearing panel's factual findings that respondent prepared and filed suit after discharge by his clients and made misrepresentations to the clients, the Grievance Administrator and the volunteer investigator; neglected a criminal appeal and failed to file a timely answer to a Request for Investigation; and failed to take timely action in a child support modification matter. Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1-6); MCR 9.113(B)(2) and Canons 2 and 6 of the Code of Professional Responsibility, DR 2-110(A)(3), DR 2-110(B)(4), and DR 6-101(A)(3). Costs were assessed in the amount of $2636.66. The Board concluded, however, that the suspension of thirty days imposed by the hearing panel should be reduced to a reprimand. The order of discipline was further modified by directing that respondent make restitution to his client in the amount of $460.00.
