1) Reprimand; 2) Effective October 21, 1988. The Respondent, by written response and through his counsel at the hearing, admitted the allegations in the Formal Complaint. Respondent was retained in April, 1985 to appeal a murder conviction. Respondent failed to file a Claim of Appeal for over a year; failed to reply to the Court of Appeals correspondence; filed an appellate brief which was returned to Respondent because no Claim of Appeal had been filed; and filed no Delayed Application for Leave to Appeal until May, 1986. Respondent#s conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1-4) and Canons 1, 6 and 7 of the Code of Professional Responsibility, DR 1-102(A)(5,6); DR 6- 101(A)(3); and DR 7-101(A)(1-3). Costs were assessed in the amount of $192.12.
