1) Reprimand; 2) Effective October 21, 1988. The Respondent engaged in the practice of law in violation of an Order of Suspension in ADB Case No. 151-87. Respondent testified that it was his belief that the Petition for Review filed by the Grievance Administrator automatically stayed his discipline; when he became aware that his understanding was erroneous, he voluntarily advised the Attorney Discipline Board that he had represented two criminal defendants in sentencing proceedings and arranged with the Court to have the sentences set aside and to arrange for new sentence hearings. Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1, 2, 4, and 8); MCLA 600.916; and Canons 1 and 3 of the Code of Professional Responsibility, DR 1-102 (A)(1, 5, and 6) and DR 3-101(B). Costs were assessed in the amount of $269.98.
