1) Revocation; 2 ) E f f e c t i v e August 24, 1988. - The Respondent f a i l e d t o answer a f i f teen-count complaint f i l e d by t h e A d m i n i s t r a t o r and f a i l e d t o a p p e a r a t t h e h e a r i n g c o n d u c t e d i n accordance wi th MCR 9.115. Based upon Respondent's d e f a u l t , t h e panel concluded t h a t t h e a l l e g a t i o n s of misconduct had been e s t a b l i s h e d . The charges i n t h e complaint a rose from Respondent's r ep re sen ta t ion of va r ious c l i e n t s i n mat te rs before t h e U.S. Patent and Trademark Off ice (PTO) and

included charges t h a t h i s f a i l u r e t o f i l e c e r t a i n amendments i n a t imely manner r e s u l t e d i n an abandonment of h i s c l i e n t ' s pa t en t a p p l i c a t i o n i n t h r e e cases ; t h a t he knowingly made f a l s e s ta tements i n v e r i f i e d responses t o l e t t e r s of i nqu i ry from t h e PTO; and t h a t Respondent f a l s i f i e d c e r t i f i c a t e s of mail ing by i n s t r u c t i n g h i s s e c r e t a r y t o i n s e r t a d a t e of mai l ing which he knew t o be f a l s e . Respondent's conduct was found t o be i n v i o l a t i o n of MCR 9.104(1-4) and Canons 1 , 6 and 7 of t h e Code o f P ro fe s s iona l Respons ib i l i t y , DR 1 - 0 2 ( A ) l - 6 ) ; DR 6-101(A)(3) and DR 7-101(A)(p3) Costs were assessed i n t h e amount of $395.17. I
