NOTICE OF SUSPENSION ADB 174-88 Steven M. Schwartz, P-36157, Holly, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board affirming a hearing panel order of suspension.
1) Suspension - two years and eleven months; 2) Effective May 5, 1988. Respondent was convicted in the Oakland County Circuit Court of the felony of embezzlement by an agent over the amount of $100.00 in violation of MCLA 750.174-B. In accordance with MCR 9.120(A), the respondent's license to practice law was suspended automatically on May 5, 1988, the date of conviction.
Upon the filing of the judgment of conviction, the Attorney Discipline Board entered an order directing the respondent to show cause why a final order of discipline should not be entered. Attorney Discipline Board Oakland County Hearing Panel #30 ordered the respondent's license to practice law be suspended for two years and eleven months retroactive to the date of conviction. The respondent filed a petition for review seeking modification of the effective date of the suspension. In an order dated December 5, 1989, the Attorney Discipline Board affirmed the hearing panel decision in all respects. Costs were assessed in the amount of $476.83.
