Respondent was convicted of three counts of evasion of payment of income tax pursuant to 26:USC:7201 in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. In accordance with MCR 9.120(A)(1), Respondent was automatically suspended from the practice of law effective May 12, 1988, the date of conviction. Respondent was ordered to show cause why a final order of discipline should not be entered. The hearing panel#s final order of discipline was entered on July 11, 1989, suspending Respondent#s license to practice law for a period of two years effective May 12, 1988, the date of the automatic suspension. Costs were assessed in the amount of $387.50.
