NOTICE OF SUSPENSION (AMENDED AS TO EFFECTIVE DhTE ONLY) ADB 24-87 L c o ~ r dB. Eeton, P 13231, Detroit, MI by the Attorney Diecipline Board affirming the hearing panel order of suepeneion.

2) Effective August 10, 1987 The hearing panel found that respondent's appearance as an attorney in various District and Circuit Court matters between June 2 and June 10,

1986 constituted a violation of a previous discipline order euspending hie license to practice for eixty days. The aixty-day euepeneion had been stayed during respondent's appeals to the Discipline Board and the Supreme Court bu$ the stay wae vacated upon entry of the Court'e order denying respondent's application for leave to appeal. Beepondent acknowledged that he received actual notice of that order on May 30, 1986. The panel rejected respondent's affirmative defenses including hie claim that he had a reasonable baeie for believing that the stay of discipline remained in effect the Court's denial of his appeal. Respondent'e conduct in violation of MCR 9.104 and Canons 1 and 3 of the Code of Profeseional Responeibility, DR 1-102(A)(4,6) and DR 3-101(B)(3). Costs were assessed in the amount of $523.62.

The order of discipline was affirmed by the Attorney Discipline Board. In an order entered November 17, 1988, respondent's application for leave to appeal vas denied by the Supreme Court.
