This is to inform the Courts of the State of Michigan of the following Order of Discipline: NOTICE OF REPRIMAND File No. DP-l>-c/80 LOUIS LAN, (P234131, 30160 Northwick Court, Farmington Hills, Michigan, 48018, by the Attorney Discipline Board affirming the Hearing Panel decision. ( 1 ) Reprimand ; ( 2 ) Effective May 6, 1981. The Hearing Panel found that Respondent was retained in a certain civil litigation matter, that Respondent did undertake certain acts of representation, that the Respondent 4 attempted to transfer the client matter to another attorney without clearly advising the client of the transfer, that no substitution of attorneys was made on the record and that there was no writing or admission that the other attorney had actually accepted transfer of the case, that it was Respondent's duty to maintain his responsibility to his client by providing her with notices of hearings and all notices of any proceedings and that he failed to do so in violation of Canons 1, 6, and 7 of the Code of Professional Responsibility, to-wit: DR1-102 ( A ) ( 5 1 , DR 6-101, (A) (3) andDX 7-101 (A) (2) and (3). The Grievance Administrator filed a Claim of Appeal claiming that the Hearing Panel erred in assessing the reprimand and failed to take into account Respondent's prior history of discipline.
