This is to inform the Courts of the State of Michigan of the following Order of Discipline:
NOTICE OF REVOCATION OF LICENSE File No. DP-124/80 Related No. 602/80
FREDERICK ALTHAUS, (P23980), 106 W. Main Street, Lowell, MI 49331, by Attorney Discipline Board Kent Circuit Hearing Panel "B". (1) Revocation of license; (2) Effective February 16, 1981. The Formal Complaint charged that Respondent was paid a retainer fee and agreed to represent his client in adoption proceedings, that Respondent gave false excuses to his clients regarding the lack of progress of the matter, which was allegedly due to Respondent's inaction, and that said client, as a result of Respondent's neglect, was required to retain another attorney and pay additional fees to proceed with the adoption in violation of GCR 953 (1-4) and Canons 1, 6 and 7 of the Code of Professional Responsibility. Respon- dent was charged in a second count with failing to-answer the Grievance Administrator's Request for Investigation of the adoption matter, in violation of GCR 953 ( 7 ) . A default for failure to answer the Formal Complaint was entered and the Hearing Panel, after a review of the evi- dence, entered its findings, including a determination that the charges in the Complaint had been proven, as well as a review of Respondent's record of prior discipline, including unspecified discipline by the State Bar of Indiana, a three (3) year suspension by the Attorney Discipline Board in January, 1980, and a suspensicnof six months by the Attorney Discipline Board in September, 1980.
