This i s to inform the Courts of the Sta te of Michigan of the following f ina l Order of Discipline: NOTICE OF SUSPENSION 31.65-y-A LOUIS LAN (P23413), 14610 W . Eight Mile Road, Oak Park, MI 48237. (1 ) Suspension; (2) For a period of one hundred twenty-one (121) days; ( 3 ) Effective April 1 , 1980, pursuant to an Attorney Discipline Board Order approving Consent/Discipline Agreement between the Grievance Administrator and Respondent.

Respondent was charged with f a i l u r e to refund ce r t a in monies paid as a deposit on the purchase of real property and with fa i lure t o answer a Request f o r Investigation re l a t ive to said alleged misconduct. In a th i rd count, Respondent was charged with improperly advising a bankruptcy c l i e n t regarding payments to creditors and advising the c l i e n t to disregard the s u i t and judg- ment against the c l i e n t by a c redi tor , resul t ing in garnishments against said c l i e n t ; Respondent was charged with f a i l ing t o answer the Request f o r Investigation in t h i s matter. Respondent was further charged with the neglect of three c iv i l act ions, including a personal injury matter and a divorce; in these matters, Respondent, notwithstanding repeated inquir ies by the c l i e n t s f o r continuous periods u p to 26 months, f a i l e d , neglected and refused to advise said c l i en t s regarding the s t a tus of the i r claims. The Complaint also alleged tha t Respondent, while outside a Dis t r i c t Court room, engaged in undignified or discourteous conduct degrading to a tribunal ; Respondent was charged with f a i l u r e to answer the Re- quest f o r Investigation in t h i s matter a lso. Pursuant t o the St ipulat ion between the Grievance Admin- i s t r a t o r and Respondent, Respondent acknowledged f a i l u r e to respond to the Request fo r Investigation re l a t ive to f i v e counts of the Complaint, each such f a i l u r e const i tut ing a separate a c t of mis- conduct. Six substantive counts of the Formal Complaint were dismissed, and no proofs were taken thereon. The Board adopted the recommendation of the Hearing Panel .
