This is to inform the Courts of the State of Michigan of the fol lowing Order of Discipline: NOTICE OF SUSPENSION File No. DP-188/80 CHARLES RAWLINGS, (PI 9258), 2238 Second Street, Wyondotte, MI 48192, by The Attorney Discipline Board approving a stipulation for consent discipline. (1) Suspension, nunc pro tunc; (2) For a period of 5 years (retroactively); (3) Effective February 9, 1975.

Respondent admitted the allegations contained in a fourteen count Formal Complaint charging misappropriation and conversion o f the funds of a law firm with whom Respondent was formally associated, fa1 sification of said law firm's business records, cornmingl ing of various clients' funds in separate personal injury, estate, domestic re1 ations, and business cl ient matters. The Formal Complaint a1 so charges that Respondent was convicted and sentenced in the Circuit Court for the County of Muskegon on a charge of uttering and pub1 ishing in violation of MCL 750.249, a felony punishable by imprisonment for up to fourteen years and a conviction pursuant to a plea of guilty to the charge of obtaining money under false pretences in violation of MCL 750,218, a felony punishable by imprisonment for up to ten years; Respondent was sentenced to a term of three to ten years imprisonment as a result of these criminal proceedings. The Formal Complaint charged viol ations of the Code of Professional Responsi bil i ty Canons 1 and 9, GCR 953 and Former State Bar Rule 15.2. Respondent voluntarily resigned from the practice of law in February of 1975; however, formal disciplinary proceedings had not been completed. Respondent was eligible to file a Petition for Reinstatement pursuant to GCR 972 and 973 upon entry of the Attorney Discipline Board order filed June, 1981 approving the retroactive five year suspension by consent.
