NOTICE OF THREE-YEAR SUSPENSION (By Consent)

Case Nos. 22-67-AI; 22-75-JC Notice Issued: July 12, 2023 Scott Alan Mund, P 56731, Muskegon, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Muskegon County Hearing Panel #1

Suspension - Three Years, Effective July 6, 2023 1 Respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a First Amended Stipulation for Consent Order of Suspension which was approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and accepted by the hearing panel. The amended stipulation contained respondent’s admission that he was convicted, by no contest plea, of one count of the felony offense of Gross Indecency, in violation of MCL/PACC 750.338B, in the matter titled People v Scott Alan Mund, Muskegon County Circuit Court Case No. 2021-004920-FH. In accordance with MCR 9.120(B)(1), respondent’s license to practice law in Michigan was automatically suspended, effective June 7, 2022, the date the court accepted respondent’s no contest plea.

Based on respondent’s admissions and the parties' amended stipulation, the panel found that respondent engaged in conduct involving a violation of the criminal law, where such conduct reflects adversely on the lawyer’s honesty, trustworthiness, or fitness as a lawyer, in violation of MRPC 8.4(b); and, violated a criminal law of a state or of the United States, an ordinance, or tribal law pursuant to MCR 2.615, in violation of MCR 9.104(5).

In accordance with the amended stipulation of the parties, the hearing panel ordered that respondent’s license to practice law in Michigan be suspended for three years, effective July 6, 2023. Total costs were assessed in the amount of $943.08.

1 Respondent has been continuously suspended from the practice of law in Michigan since June 7, 2022. Please see Notice of Automatic Interim Suspension issued September 6, 2022.
