NOTICE OF AUTOMATIC INTERIM SUSPENSION

On August 7, 2023, respondent was convicted by guilty plea of one count of operating while intoxicated, third offense, in violation of MCL 257.625(1)(a), a felony offense, in a matter titled People v Eric Allen Buikema, Lapeer County Circuit Court, Case No. 23-014499-FH.  In accordance with MCR 9.120(B)(1), respondents license to practice law in Michigan was automatically suspended on the date of his felony conviction.

 

This matter has been assigned to a hearing panel for further proceedings.  The interim suspension will remain in effect until the effective date of an order filed by a hearing panel under MCR 9.115(J).
