GRIEVANCE ADMINISTRATOR, Attorney Grievance Commission,

v

Petitioner/Appellee,

Case No. 19-28-RD

JOSEPHINE S. MILLER, P 32014, Respondent/Appellant. /

BOARD ORDER AFFIRMING ORDER OF SUSPENSION

Issued by the Attorney Discipline Board 333 W. Fort St., Ste. 1700, Detroit, MI

Tri-County Hearing Panel #3 of the Attorney Discipline Board issued an order of suspension in this matter on January 13, 2020. The panel ordered reciprocal discipline under MCR 9.120(C) based upon respondent’s suspension from the practice of law in Connecticut by order of the Superior Court, Judicial District of Danbury, Connecticut. The hearing panel ordered that respondent’s license to practice law in Michigan should be suspended for a period of one year, effective February 4, 2020. Respondent petitioned for review but did not petition for a stay, so respondent is currently suspended under the hearing panel’s order imposing reciprocal discipline. The Attorney Discipline Board has conducted review proceedings in accordance with MCR 9.118.

NOW THEREFORE, for the reasons set forth in the accompanying opinion, IT IS ORDERED that the hearing panel order of suspension issued on January 13, 2020, is AFFIRMED.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that respondent shall, on or before October 28, 2020, pay costs incurred by the Attorney Discipline Board for the transcript of the review proceedings conducted on June 17, 2020, in the amount of $113.50. This amount is in addition to the costs previously assessed in the hearing panel order of January 13, 2020, together with interest pursuant to MCR 9.128. Total costs assessed and owed are $1,857.57. Check or money order shall be made payable to the Attorney Discipline System, and submitted to the Attorney Discipline Board [333 W. Fort St., Suite 1700, Detroit, MI 48226] for proper crediting. (See attached instruction sheet).
